Another arson victim dies at DMCH

Another arson victim succumbed to his injuries at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital [DMCH] on
 Friday afternoon while the death toll rises to 100, including 75 burn victims, during the ongoing blockade progarmme of BNP-led 20-part alliance.
The victim was identified as Jahid Ahmed, 38, a truck driver, who received burn injuries in a firebomb attack in Narsingdi district on February 12, Dr Samanta Lal Sen, Adviser to the DMCH burn of DMCH told the New Nation on Friday.
At least two hundred and fifty people are receiving treatment after receiving burn injuries from arson attacks in several hospitals across the country, Dr Samanta Lal said.
Earlier, a burn victim succumbed to his injuries at the burn unit of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Md Hossain, 50, who was injured on February 15, said Dr Mrinal Kanti Das, head of CMCH burn unit,
He received burn injuries in Lalpool area beside Dhaka-Chittagong highway on the fateful day, he said.
