Anisuzzaman accorded reception

Emeritus Professor of Dhaka University Dr Anisuzzaman was accorded with a reception for achieving Padma Bhushan, third highest civilian award in India. World University of Bangladesh (WUB) accorded him with the reception on Tuesday at a ceremony at National Museum auditorium at Shahbagh here.
He was awarded a gold medal as a language hero and a replica of Padmaful (lotus) for archiving Padma Bhushan at the function. Health Minister Mohammad Nasim attended the function as the chief guest with WUB Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Mannan Chowdhury in the chair.
Anisuzzaman said the country is going through a crisis of values and for such reasons the defeated forces of War of Liberation in 1971 get new strength which becomes a threat to the pro-liberation forces.
“The country will not get rid of this crisis until the ideology and spirit of the War of Liberation is implemented,” he added.
He hoped that the young generation will implement the spirit defeating the anti-liberation forces.
Mohammad Nasim said, “Such a situation has been created in the country where communalism is being spread against whom Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her teacher Prof Anisuzzaman have been fighting.”
The minister said Anisuzzaman is a man of such a stature whose electrifying personality encourages the younger generation and his wisdom enlighten their life.
