RINA KHAN: An actress of 600 movies

Sheikh Arif Bulbon :Rina Khan is popularly known as a female villain in the film industry. But in real life, she is very amicable and jolly-minded person. She got gold medal in cycling in 70s. But she never thought she could acting in movies during that time. Rina Khan debuted her film career suddenly by Subhash Dutta’s movie Sohag Milon. She acted in the role of a tribal female in that movie. It was released in 1982. During that time she also performed as a model in a TV commercial of Bazaz. She first acted in a villain role of a step-sister in Subhash Dutta’s another movie Sabuj Sathi in 1982. In 1983, she again came into limelight to acting in Kazi Nurul Haque’s movie Megh Bijli Badol. Later she acted in 600 movies like Man Somman, Saheb Tasher Ghor, Mohanayok, Mayer Doa, Sood Ashol, Prem Jamuna, Bou Swashurir Juddho, Dojjal Swashuri, Aamar Sangsar, Sangsar-er Sukh Duksho, Banglar Bou, Rickshawalar Prem, etc. For acting in movie ‘Sakhkhat’ she got BACHSHAS Award.While talking about her film career Rina Khan told this correspondent, “I really feel proud to introduce myself as a film actress. Acting is my passion and profession also. I want to act rest of my life because it introduced me as one Rina Khan in the country’s film industry.”Hailed from Kalkini of Madaripur district Selina Sultana named after Rina Khan by Subhash Dutta in the beginning of her acting career. Amongst two brothers and five sisters Rina is the eldest. She is a proud mother of two sons named Shanto and Antu. Recently she made a drama serial titled Pir Maa’r Kichchha. Later it was broadcasted on Mohona TV under the title Taal Betaal.
