Industry Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Thursday sought Indian investment in the country’s power, oil and gas, IT, healthcare, financial services, higher education, energy, electric and electronic equipments, industrial machinery and agri sectors.
“We want to achieve sustainable economic growth and enhance bilateral and multilateral trade and business relations with the neighboring countries”, said the minister while inaugurating a 3-day long ‘India INVESTRADE-2015’ held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) on Thursday.
Indian High Commissioner Pankaj Saran, the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Director Shafquat Haider, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) President Hossain Khaled, Indo-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mohammed Ali and India Investrade 2015 Chairman Nayantara Palchaudhuri were present in the inaugural programme.
The minister expected that India INVESTRADE 2015 will be an example of common platform for the investors as well as the industrialists of both the countries to identify the suitable sectors for investment.
Indian Chambers of Commerce (ICC) in association with FBCCI and the Ministry of Commerce of India organised the fair. Representatives of 60 Indian small and medium-sized enterprises have taken part in it.
On August 8, the concluding day of the fair, a discussion on “The India-Bangladesh Business Conclave: The Way Forward”, will be unveiled by Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith where discussion on cooperation in service sector between the two countries will take place.
