FM Kh. Aminul Islam of Bangladesh Navy Chess emerged unbeaten champion in the 10th Amrito Lal Dey International Rating Chess Tournament that concluded on Friday at Abdul Khaleq Pathagar in Barisal.
Amin earned 7.5 points to clinch the title. FM Nasir Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy finished runner-up and his teammate M Sagar became 3rd in the meet. Nasir and Sagar both secured 7 points.
Dewan Shahidul Amin of Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club became 4th with 6.5points.
Seven players earned 6 points each, 4 players among them got 5th to 8th places to get prizes. They are: 5th-Shafiq Ahmed of Titas Club, 6th- FM Debaraj Chatterjee of Titas Club, 7th-Mohammed Enayet Hossain of Fire Service & Civil Defense Sports Club and 8th-Chanchal Kumer Ghosh of Khulna.
Suvradeepta Das of India, Avik Sarker of Basir Memorial, WIM Rani Hamid, Abdul Momin of Mir Chess, Kingshuk Das, Dewan M Riad, Shah Rezve, Dilara Jahan Nupur and Asifur Rahman Muaz of Barisal and Abu Taleb Kuranu of Bogra earned categories prizes.
In the 9th or last round matches, Amin beat Sahfiq, Nasir beat Enayet, Sagar beat Debaraj, Tipu got walk-over against FM Mehdi Hasan, Sawkat Hossain Pollab beat Momin and Chanchal beat Faizullah Khan.
