Amin Jewellers to honour 27 dignitaries

Amin Jewellers Limited, one of the modern and famous jewellers in Bangladesh, will honour 27 dignitaries of the country, for their remarkable contribution to respective fields.
The fields are of history and tradition, language movement, independence movement, art, literature and culture, politics, economics, business, education, architecture, medical science and journalism.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith as the chief gust will hand the prize at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) on next January 2.
The nominated dignitaries are academician Prof Anisuzzaman, freedom fighter Ashalata Baidya, physician and President of BIRDEM Dr AK Azad Khan, Archaeologist AKM Zakaria, Scientist and Techno expert AKM Harun-Ur-Rashid, freedom fighter Kakon Bibi, veteran Civil Engineer Dr Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, veteran journalist and Advisor of Dainik Janakantho Toab Khan, veteran Politician Tofail Ahmed, botanist Prof Dwijen Sharma, first women Journalist Nurjahan Begum, language movement activist Protiva Mutsuddy, Chairperson of BRAC Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, renowned poet and journalist Mahadeb Saha, Artist Mortuza Bashir, Artist and Cartoonist Mustafa Monowar, writer Prof Jatin Sarker, veteran lawyer Barrister Rafique-ul Haque, actor Nayak Raj Razzak, legendary Singer Runa Laila, first women photojournalist Sayeda Khanam, educationalist and Prof Serajul Islam Chowdhury, renowned rhymester Sukumar Barua, renowned exponent of Nazrul songs Sudhin Das, ambidextrous writer Syed Shamsul Haque, short-story writer Hasan Azizul Huq and veteran author, screenwriter, filmmaker late Humayun Ahmed (Posthumous). Each of them will get Tk 0.30 million in cash with a two-tola gold medal and a crest, according to a news agency.
