Private Ambulance Owners Samity and the Ambulance drivers, workers jointly called daylong strike yesterday to press home their demand of parking facilities in front of Chittagong Medical College Hospital an police harassment .
The strike enforced from early morning and the patients and their relatives are the worst sufferers with the strike . Finding no alternatives, the patients are being carried by either CNG taxi or private hired microbus with high price. The leaders of the Ambulance owners Samity said parking infront of CMCH is their legitimate rights but police declines their rights.
A sources of Ambulance samity said that a number of policemen of hospital police camp are harassing the ambulance drivers since long centering the parking. Further said 3 ambulances were detained by Panchalaish thana police on Wednesday. The leaders said if their demands are not fulfilled by end of thursday , they will be compelled to enforce tougher movement from today.
