Alamgir Morshed joins at StanChart BD

Alamgir Morshed has recently been appointed as Head of Commercial Banking of Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh, according to a statement by the Bank.
Alamgir joined Standard Chartered in 1995 and has held a number of positions within the Bank. In his immediate past role, Alamgir led the Financial Markets team of the Bank, where he was responsible for overseeing the Debt Capital Markets, Financial Markets Sales and Foreign Exchange and Rates Trading functions of the Bank.
With over 23 years of experience in the banking industry, Alamgir has been at the forefront of the development of the banking industry in Bangladesh, having introduced many pioneering solutions such as currency derivatives, interest swaps, and commodity hedging to the local market. He played an active role in the S&P sovereign rating advisory for Bangladesh. He has also been a key contributor to Bangladesh Foreign Exchange Dealers Association (BAFEDA), and a member of Bangladesh Bank Authorized Dealers Forum.
Alamgir holds an MBA from Institute of Business Administration, Dhaka University, Bangladesh. He attended various trainings on leadership at prestigious institutions, including Saïd Business School – Oxford University and INSEAD Singapore. Alamgir is married to Shova and they have two children.
