AL unveil election manifesto by Dec 15

General Secretary of Awami League (AL) Obaidul Quader said on Friday, his party will unveil its election manifesto by December 15.
“We have a plan to make villages towns as part of our development programme in the manifesto. If we are successful, exodous of people from villages to towns will largely all and it will increase both GDP and per capita income,” Obaidul Quader said this at a press conference in the AL President’s Dhanmondi office on Friday morning.
Focusing on various achievements of the present government, he said, “Though BNP was in power for a long time, it could not present any mega project. Instead, the country fell behind for lack of farsightedness.”
Obaidul Quader hoped that the AL manifesto would earn the appreciation of the people of the country.
Some 50 new faces will be there in the AL nomination to gradually change the old guards, he said.”
Awami League won’t flee the country, no matter whether it remains in power or not… we do politics for the people of the country,” he said.
Obaidul Quader said that those who joined the Jatiya Oikyafront from have a bleak future.
“They were once a part of the Awami League. Their souls will bleed.
They have knowingly drunk poison by joining hands with communal forces. This will hurt them for a long time,” he said.
The Jatiya Oikyafront’s Chief Dr Kamal Hossain, was once a member of the Awami League Presidium and a minister during Bangabandhu’s government.
Other Awami League leaders who have joined the opposition alliance are Abu Sayeed, Sultan Md Mansur Ahmed and Reza Kibria. Last one is the son of a former Awami League leader.
“We may make mistakes. Sheikh Hasina has the courage to amend her mistakes. But our politics are for who are distress and have-nots, for people in general. We will never flee, even if we are not in power,” he said.
