RAB claims they have arrested a young man who received and circulated the audio-video message of al-Qaeda chief Ayman Al-Zawahiri calling for an ‘intifada’ (uprising) in Bangladesh. RAB personnel nabbed 21-year old Md Rasel Bin Sattar Khan from Tangail’s Majhipara at 5:30am on Tuesday. “As far as we know, he has connections with al-Qaeda. He is the one who uploaded the clip. We are analysing the information,” said RAB Additional Director General Col Ziaul Ahsan. “Rasel is also an administrator of the controversial Facebook page “Basher Kella”, Ahsan said. Three cell phones, two laptops and a huge body of Jihadi literature were seized from Rasel, Ahsan said. An audio message with a still photo of al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri laced with videos of police action in Bangladesh has been circulating on the Internet since last weekend. In the message, Al-Zawahiri is seen calling Bangladeshi Muslims to start an ‘intifada’ (uprising) against the enemies of Islam. Prime Minister’s Advisor for Security Affairs Tarique Ahmed Siddique had said on Monday that the government had located the source of the message but was yet to find out who was involved with it. – bdnews24.com
