The ruling Awami League (AL) has named four of its joint general secretaries as the party’s spokespersons after forming different committees.
They are: Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Dipu Moni, and the party’s publicity secretary Hasan Mahmud. They have been named as the party’s spokespersons following directives from AL Chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader told The New Nation yesterday confirming the appointments.
“The four spokespersons have been appointed as it is not possible for him to brief the newsmen about everything that happens from time to time,” he added.
Obaidul Quader also the Road and Bridges Minister, however, said that he will play the role of Chief Spokesperson for the party.
Quader was made the AL General Secretary through the party’s 20th Council Session held in Dhaka on 22-23 October. The ruling party also reconstituted different committees later on.
