Staff Reporter :
The BNP on Friday claimed that the ruling party men had hand in the disappearance of lakhs of tonnes of coal from Baropukuria Coal Mine.
“It is totally impossible to vanish lakhs of tonnes of coal from the yard of Baropukuria Coal Mine without ‘green signal’ of the ruling party,” said BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in a press briefing at the party’s central office.
The BNP leader questioned why did not the the ministry concerned awake from sleep even after closure of production, coal supply and power plant in July last year?
Rizvi advised the AL leaders to refrain from transferring responsibility on others.
He said, “The ministry remained indifferent to the incident of coal disappearance. It is mysterious. The ministry slept only and did nothing but plundered.”
It is inexplicable how did the authority grant 42 days leave to a high ranking official of the coal mining project?
The BNP leader said that the Anti-Corruption Commission launched investigation late. It is nothing but eye-wash.
BNP central leader Habibur Rahman Habib, Advocate Sanaullah Mia and Abdus Salam Azad, among others, were present.
