An Awami league activist was hacked to death over previous enmity in Mordana area of Shibganj upazila on Saturday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Robiul Islam, son of Noju Monna of the area.
Nur-e Alam, sub-inspector of Shibganj Police Station, said a group of miscreants attacked Robiul with sharp weapon around 1pm while he was working in his mango orchard, leaving him critically injured.
Rescued by the local people he was rushed to Shibganj upazila health complex.
As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 4pm.
