B'baria mayhem: AL leaders visit vandalised houses

An Awami League delegation on Tuesday visited Haripur in Nasirnagar upazila where several temples and houses were vandalised during a demonstration over a Facebook post allegedly demeaning the holy Kaaba.
The four-member delegation, led by party’ organising secretary Enamul Haq Shamim, visited the affected areas around 11:20am.
The other members of the delegation are at AL relief and social welfare secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, its central committee members Marufa Akhter Popy and Golam Kabir Rabbani Chinu.
Talking to reporters, Shamim said the government will take legal actions against those who vandalised the temples and houses of the Hindu community. The Deputy Commissioner of Brahmanbaria has been asked to compensate the victims and rehabilitate them after making a list said Shamim, adding that there will be a discussion at Ganobhaban at the party forum on Tuesday in this regard.
