A local Awami League leader’s son has allegedly hacked a school teacher at capital’s Sekhertek.
Pranab Kumar Sarker, the headmaster of Protiva School, came under the attack around 11:30 am on Saturday at Road 6 in the area. He was rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital. Doctors said his condition was critical. Rana, the son of ‘Sanaullah’ who is the president of Awami League’s Dhaka Metropolitan Ward-100 unit, attacked Pranab with a sharp weapon, according to eye witnesses.
Several witnesses, wishing not to be named, told bdnews24.com that Rana hacked the headmaster for preventing him and several others from playing cricket during the class hours in front of the school.
He fled the scene immediately after the attack. Police detained Rana’s father and two brothers since the accused was absconding, said Adabar police OC Sahinur Rahman.
