AL leader remanded over BCL activist murder

A court here on Monday placed a local Awami League leader on a two-day remand in a case filed over the killing of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader Sudipta.
Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Salem Md Noman passed the order when Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Inspector Santosh Kumar Chakma and also the investigation officer of the case produced Didarul Alam Masum before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.The lawyer of Masum filed a petition seeking his bail, reports police.
On Sunday, a team of PBI arrested Masum, general secretary of Lalkhan Bazar unit of AL, from the capital’s Banani area.Later, he was taken to Chattogram and produced before the court.
