AL leader abducted in Kaliganj

An ex- chairman of Maliat union Parishad and General Secretary of the union Awami League Azizur Rahman Khan, 55, was allegedly abducted by some unknownmen on Tuesday morning.
He was picked up by some people wearing black dress near Chakulia Battala under the union at about 6.00 am when he was walking. Mominur Rahman Kjhan, a brother of Azizur said, Azizur was walking in the rural road.
When he reached near the microbus staying their, some black-dressed people took him in the vehicle and left the scene. They assumed that Azizur might ride in the vehicle willingly.
As he did not return home in time, the relatives informed the matter to Kaliganj police and the on-duty police men suggested them to search Azizur in the house of his near and dear ones. The police also denied of taking any case saying he might avail the vehicle willingly.
The family sources said, the son of Azizur was serving in the police department, while the daughter was married. He along with his wife had been living in the village home, they said.
Kaliganj police station officer inn charge Aminul Islam when contacted said, as he was informed that an ex chairman of Niamatpur union was missing, sent an officer of the police station to investigate the matter. No one came to Kaliganj police station till Wednesday afternoon to file any case, OC said.
