The ruling Awami League (AL) plans to hold a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on January 19 to mark the victory in the 11th Parliamentary election held on December 30.
AL President Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend the programme as the Chief Guest, the AL sources said
AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader called upon all the leaders and activists of the party to attend the rally in a bid to make it successful.
Besides, Obaidul Quader will hold a joint meeting with the general secretaries of the party’s different front and associate bodies at AL Bangabandhu Avenue central office around 11:00am tomorrow.
He also asked presidents and general secretaries of the party’s associate bodies to attend the meeting at due time.
Sheikh Hasina along with other members will take oath as member of the new Cabinet for the third consecutive term on Monday.
The AL-led 14-party grand alliance secured 288 seats out of 299 in the December 30 national election.
