Joynul Abedin, a local Awami League leader and councilor of ward-10 of the Barisal City Corporation , who was allegedly grabbed land of play ground of a school in the city and constructed his personal offices on that, has removed the illegal structures on Thursday following an order of the High Court.
After visiting the spot in Razzak Smriti Colony in KDC Ghat area under ward-10 on Friday afternoon , it was found that personal office of councilor Joynul, his stalls and Sramik League office constructed illegally occupying the Bastuhara Government Primary School premises and playground, have been removed by the men of Joynul.
Joynul, the three-time elected councilor of the ward, said did not know who constructed or removed the structures and yet not received the order of High Court.
However I will help to execute order of High Court as a follower of law and order , Joynul who claimed to be staying at Dhaka told over mobile phone.
Joynul was also infamous for working under any political party that comes to power to stay under a political shelter and controls dens of the drug peddlers and criminals in a slum in the KDC Ghat area, local people alleged alleged.
Mentionable the bench of Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice ABM Altaf Hossain ordered the authorities concerned to remove construction materials and clear the playground of a school for slum and street children in Barisal town within 48 hours.
The writ petition was filed by the Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh Justice and the court also ordered the DC and police commissioner of Barisal district and Sadar UNO to ensure restoration of the street children’s playing facility.”
