The BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on Wednesday, Awami League (AL) can’t endure criticism of India.
He was addressing a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office, in the capital.
Rizvi Ahmed said, Awami League or its student body could endure their criticism to some extent, but they could not tolerate critics of India.
‘Calling Abrar the ‘best patriot of the time’, he said that Abrar would remain in our memory for the spirit in protecting the country’s independence and sovereignty.
The BNP leader expressed solidarity with the ongoing protests and demands raised by the students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology students protesting the murder of BUET student Abrar Fahad.
He demanded arrest of Amit Saha, BUET unit Chhatra League Law Affairs Secretary, whose room was used for torturing Abrar that caused his death. Rizvi said the case statement did not mention the name of Amit, he was not expelled from BCL and even no punitive step was taken against him.
‘The BUET administration and controversial police officials are now busy with saving him.
Rizvi accused the government of applying different tricks to calm protesting students when the country’s campuses were witnessing processions and rallies and human chains protesting murder of BUET student Fahad.
‘Abrar was murdered for giving facebook status protesting the government’s, deals with India, and that is why, the government could not deny the responsibility of Abrar murder,’ he said.
