Muktagacha Municipality Election: AL candidate unveils 22-point election manifesto

Awami League (AL) nominated candidate Billal Hossain Sarkar announced his 22-point election manifesto ahead of the Muktagacha municipality election to be held in the second phase on January 16.
Bador Uddin Ahmed, chief coordinator of the election management committee, read out the manifesto in favor of the boat symbol candidate (Billal Hossain Sarkar) in the presence of party leaders and activists at a press conference held at Muktagacha Press Club on Sunday evening.
After reading out the manifesto, the AL candidate answered various questions of the journalists.
Speaking at the press conference, Billal Hossain Sarkar said Muktagacha is the oldest municipality in the region. Even though it was given the first-class status a long time ago, it goes without modern facilities.
“The Municipality is running with additional tax burden, broken roads, waterlogging, shortage of potable water, lack of civic amenities and traffic congestion. Although thousands of people come to the city every day, there is no public toilet for them,” he added.
He also said that if the citizens voted him, he would take special initiative to solve all these problems.
The AL candidate promised to develop all roads in the municipality, improve drainage system, construction of public toilets in important places in the city, ensure access to potable drinking water, no tax increase for 5 years with 25 percent subsidy, ensuring safe movement of students, delivery of health services to the doorsteps, installation of LED lights on all roads and building the in municipality free of corruption, drug, and terrors
Former MP of Jatiya Party Salahuddin Ahmed Mukti, senior vice president of Upazila Awami League Azizul Haque Edu, Upazila Vice Chairman Arab Ali and other leaders and activists of Awami League and its affiliated organizations, were present, among others on the occasion.
