AL, BNP share SCBA top posts

Staff Reporter: The ruling Awami League-backed panel won six out of 14 posts in the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) election while the BNP-backed panel won eight.
The result was published yesterday following the election held on Wednesday and Thursday.
SCBA incumbent president Advocate AM Amin Uddin, member of Bangabandhu Ainjibi Parishad, won in President post while BNP-backed panel Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum candidate Barrister Md Ruhul Quddus Kajol won in the post of Secretary.

The pro-AL candidates who secured six posts included Md Moniruzzaman (Vice-President); Md Bakir Uddin Bhuiyan (Assistant Secretary); Md Imtiaz Farooque (Assistant Secretary); Md Humayun Kabir (Executive Member); and Md Mashiur Rahman, (Executive Member).

Seven BNP-backed candidates who won different posts included Md Abdul Zabbar Bhuiyan (Vice-President); Ragib Rauf Chowdhury (Treasurer); Mar-E-Um Khandakar (Executive Member); Amirul Islam Khokon (Executive Member); Md Mohaddesh-Ul-Islam Tutul (Executive Member); Md Mohsin Kabir (Executive Member); and Md Saifuddin Mohammed Ratan (Executive Member).
