Around 20 people including journalists were injured in a clash between ruling party Awami League (AL) and BNP in Ruhia upazila of the Thakurgaon district on Saturday.
The clash triggered centering a protest rally of BNP and programme of Mohila Awami League on the same day in Ruhia thana.
Police and local people said that a chase and counter-chase and clash followed between Awami League and BNP activists wielding with domestic weapons.
At that time both of them hurled brickbats to each other.
As a result, several people including Thakurgaon district BNP joint general secretary were injured.
Several vehicles and shops were also vandalised at that time.
A tense situation was prevailing there.
