UNB, Chittagong :A local Awami League activist was chopped to death by miscreants at Yeakubnagar in Sitakunda upazila on Friday night.The deceased was identified as Abul Quashem, 52, son of Sagir Ahmed of the area and a local AL activist.Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Sitakunda Police Station Iftekhar Ahmed said a group of miscreants chopped Quashem with sharp weapons in front of his residence around 8pm, leaving him injured critically.He was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where doctors declared him dead.
