AKS earns BPL title sponsorship

Abul Khair Still (AKS) has earned the title sponsorship right of the 5th Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 starting on November 4 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium (SICS).
The seven-team franchised tournament will be named as AKS BPL T20 – powered by Shah Cement as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced it in a press conference at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) on Monday.
The 43-day tournament opener will be held at SICS where Surma Sixers Sylhet and defending champion Dhaka Dynamites face each other. The tournament will end on December 12.
A total of seven teams –Dhaka Dynamites, Rajshahi Kings, Khulna Titans, Chittagong Vikings, Rangpur Riders, Comilla Victorians and Surma Sixers Sylhet– are participating in this edition of BPL.
The other venues of the tournament are SBNCS and Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong.
CEO of K Sports Fahad Karim thanked the BCB and Abul Khair Group for giving them the opportunity to be a part of BPL, “It is a privilege for us that for the second consecutive year Abul Khair Group and BCB has kept faith on us. We are hopeful of a successful BPL.”
Brand marketing director of Abul Khair Group Naushad Karim expressed his delight saying, “We are happy to be a part of this edition of BPL like last year. We hope that a lot of young local players will show their talent in the BPL which will help them to play for the national team in the future.”
BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury and managing partner of Matra Sanaul Arefin were present at the press conference.

Bashundhara beat Victoria 2-1

Bashundhara Kings defeated Victoria Sporting Club by 2-1 goals in the Marcel Bangladesh Championship League football at Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamlapur on Monday.
Mahadi Hasan scored two goals for the winners in the 9th and 20th minutes while Sabbir Ahmed scored in the 65th minutes to reduce the gap for the losers.
