Airtel offers free calls to Nepal for 48 hrs

Cellular phone operator Airtel has offered its customers to make calls free of charge to earthquake-stricken Nepal. The offer will be valid for 48 hours starting from 12 am, April 27, 2015. The operator has taken the initiative as the Himalayan country was struck by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in the capital, Kathmandu, and the city of Pokhara on April 25 while another 6.7-magnitude tremor jolted the country on April 26.
This initiative will let the people get connected to their beloved ones, who are affected by the earthquake in Nepal.
PD Sarma, Managing Director and CEO of Airtel, said, “As a small gesture during this hour of crisis, we have decided to offer all calls on the Airtel network from Bangladesh to Nepal.
