Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali was taken to Singapore on Saturday noon with life support for better treatment as he suffered a heart attack.
Maidul Islam, information officer of the ministry, said the minister was flown to Singapore in an air
ambulance at around 12:30pm as his condition deteriorated.
He said, Mohsin Ali will be admitted to Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. Maidul said a doctor of the hospital arrived here with the air ambulance from Singapore and took him away in the Southeast Asian country for better treatment. The minister’s wife and daughter also accompanied him.
The Social Welfare Minister was admitted to Birdem Hospital in the city around 4:30am on Thursday with various complications, including pneumonia and kidney problems. He was on life support at the hospital.
Later on Friday noon, he suffered a heart attack while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital and was kept under mechanical ventilation since then.
