Chittagong Bureau :The agitated landowners and the residents of Middle Halishahar in city resisted the project work following the disputes over land acquisitions by the district administration. The angry mob resisted the WASA workers to refrain from constructing a boundary wall of the project in middle Halishahar on Thursday at about 12 noons. The CWASA project meant for the proposed sewerage project. Later district executive magistrate and the police authority brought the situation under control. Local resident sources said the acquainted land yet to be final as the land cases over the land is under trial before the court and until the case is finalized following the decree, WASA authority cannot do anything over the land. While contacted the Officer in charge of Halishahar thana, Pranab Kumar Chowdhury told that local residents resisted the WASA constrictor to undergo the project work as a such tense situation created which later became calm following the intervention of the police.
