Noted actress and director Afsana Mimi and five times National Film Award winning actor Ferdous will be sharing the screen for the first time. They have collaborated for the children’s movie titled Sheikh Russell er Jonno Opekkha, which is to be directed by Noor E Alam.
The story of the movie is based on the novel of the same title authored by the eminent novelist Selina Hossain where Afsana Mimi will be seen as Bongomata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, while Ferdous will play the role of a colonel, who was assigned for the security of Sheikh Russell. The movie was scripted by Ahmed Yousuf Saber. Basically the movie focuses on the life of Sheikh Russell.
Shooting for the government granted movie has already begun at Bangbandhu’s residence at Dhanmondi Road No 32 recently.
While talking about acting in this film, Afsana Mimi said, “Before working I always read the script properly. But in this movie, after knowing my character I agreed to work without reading the script. Basically it is a children film and government granted movie, so I think it is my responsibility to act in this movie. In fact, I have taken a challenge to play the role of Bongomata in the movie.”
Ferdous shared his feelings by this way, “Mimi and I are working in a movie which will become part of the history. Main thing is that shooting of this movie is being held at Dhanmondi Road No 32’s Bangabandhu’s residence. I never thought I would get the opportunity to take part in shooting of a movie at that residence. When we went there we really felt thrilled. I think in my career, it will become a memorable experience to me for acting in this movie.”
Ferdous also said that in his long time acting career, Mimi and he took part in dubbing of a movie titled Amar Ghor Aamar Behestha, directed by Sohanur Rahman Sohan where Ferdous gave voice for film actor Shakil Khan, while Mimi gave her voice for actress Poppy.
