A director and his two assistants have been accused of raping a teenage girl during the shooting of a drama in Nilerpara area in Gazipur.
The girl, an underage drama actress, filed the case against the three of them, said Md Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Joydebpur Police Station.
The suspects are – Mijanur Rahman Shamim, 53, and his assistants Atik, 30 and Md Mamun, 26.
Shamim is a resident of Bilaspur Bus Stand in Gazipur.
According to the case dossier, the girl hailed from Pangsha Upazila in Rajbari. She lives in Savar with her sister’s family and is a model.
“Shamim makes films and TV dramas,” the accuser said.
“I agreed with his offer to act in a production. On April 8 I began working with other actors at a rented place in Nilerpara. Two days later, Shamim entered my room around 10pm and raped me.”
She claimed that Atik and Mamun were standing at the door to assist their boss.
The girl said Shamim threatened her kill her and pressured her not to disclose the incident. He also forced her to act in a short film. During the shoot, he raped her several more times. She said she was finally able to escape his clutches on April 23. The case was delayed because of concerns from the family, she said in a statement. But she did not want to disclose the name of the production house.
OC Aminul said the girl was sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for the medical test. The officials are looking for the suspect, he said.
