Today ( September 1 ) is the 28th death anniversary of eminent film and mancha actor Abdul Matin.
On this occasion , a day-long Quran Khani and Doa Mahfil will be held at 20A/B Narindra Road in the city .
Actor Abdul Matin was born on July 17, 1921 . He started his performance as an artist in 1935 and he was the first Muslim who staged Bengali drama .
The mentionable films where he acted are: Asami, Lal Sabujer Pala, Nat Bou, Gigansa, Deep Niba Jay etc.
His two sons -Abdur Ratin is an actor and another son Anjan Rahman is a senior journalist.
He died on September 3 in 1988.
