Shahiduzzaman Selim is a
versatile actor. Without Selim, directors do not cast anybody as the replacement in his role. In his long time acting career, Selim acted in so many challenging roles which made him a versatile actor. Now there is no alternative of him. This National Film Award winning actor performed his duties as President of Actors Equity BD
for last two terms. He performed his duties well specially during the pandemic period due to corona. Today is Selim’s birthday. Basically on his birthday, he does not keep any shooting schedule. He passes the day along with his family.
While talking about the pandemic time and his birthday Selim said, “I wanted to make Actors Equity stronger rather than
previous times. During corona pandemic, the Actors Equity passed crisis times. I fulfilled 90 per cent works which I wanted to do. Rest 10 per cent remains incomplete. Everybody prays for me as I can remain well. When my birthday comes, I can member old days with my parents.” Recently he made a drama titled Porobashi Megh. He awaits to get release dates of his acted movies Sonar Char, directed by Zahid Hossain, Jol Rong, directed Apurba Rana, Psycho, directed by Anonno Mamun, Rupkotha Noy, directed
by Moushumi Tani, and Poran, directed by Raihan Rafi.
Selim also said that from tomorrow he will start shooting of Montazur Rahman Akbar’s web series Jimmi. In the meantime, he also started shooting of Mostafa Kamal Raz directed drama serial Family Crisis Reloaded. Attached with Dhaka Theatre, Selim was born on January 5 in 1961 but in his
certificate, it was written 1963. So, he will turn 61 today.
Now Selim is giving direction of a theatre play titled Ekti Loukik OthobaAloukik Steamer.
