Ruling Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said that both organizational and administrative actions were taken against offenders involved in the killing of BUET student Abrar Fahad.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is firm in her stance and will not spare those who are involved in criminal activities.
The AL general secretary said this to reporters at the party president’s office at Dhanmondi in the capital.
Quader said: “It is not unusual that miscreants will try to infiltrate a party that is in power. Some of these people have found their way inside Awami League, but the prime minister will spare anyone who is infiltrating the party or is involved with criminal activities.”
Abrar Fahad, a second year student of BUET’s Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department was beaten to death by BCL activists in a room of Sher-e-Bangla Hall early Monday.
