Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Thursday alerted that actions would be taken against Additional Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Gazi Mozammel Haque if evidence is found against him over the allegation on grabbing land forcibly from an elderly man.
The Home Minister said this while exchanging views with the newly elected leaders of Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) in the Conference Room of the ministry on Thursday afternoon.
In a query, Kamal said, “Nobody will be spared who is involved in crime. No matter he is an influential person. Earlier, we took steps against DIG Mizanur Rahman. Actions will certainly be taken against Gazi Mozammel if he is found involved in the allegation.”
Meanwhile, Police Headquarters sources said that a special team is investigating the case.
Earlier, a case was filed against 20 people, including additional DIG Mozammel Haque, over grabbing land forcibly on March 14 this year.
A Dhaka court asked the authority concern to form a judicial probe committee to investigate the case.
In another query, the minister commented that the child rape incidents across the country hit our conscience that proved our society’s values went down to bottom.
In the same event, the Home Minister informed the reporters that the e-passport system will start this month.
