Accused Bakhtiar Alam Rony’s advocate cross-examined Investigation Officer of the Eskaton double-murder case yesterday.
Judge of the Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka Md Manjarul Imam recorded the cross-examination of IO Dipok Kumar Das. On behalf of Rony, his lawyer cross-examined the IO and who is also the DB Police Inspector Dipak Kumar Das. Rony’s lawyer Kazi Nazibullah Hero cross-examined the IO.
After the cross-examination, the court fixed November 5 for self defence of Rony and further argument in the case.
On April 13 in 2015, Bokhtiar Alam Rony said to be a drug addict, opened fire on people indiscriminately in New Eskaton area from his car, leaving two people- rickshaw-puller Abdul Hakim and the Janakantha’s auto rickshaw driver Yakub- injured with bullets. Both of them later, succumbed to their injuries.
