Access to information is constitutional right, says Div Commissioner

Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram ABM Azad said that access to information is a constitutional right of all citizens. There are many social and economic contexts involved in getting this rights.Due to the corona virus situation, the country is going through a crisis, but the fair rights of every citizen must be established.
He was addressing at a virtual symposium organized by the Zoom Apps on the occasion of International Right to Information Day on Monday (September 28) .
The symposium was organized by the Government Information Commission and the Chattogram Divisional Administration. The theme of the day is’ Right to Information – a tool in crisis, people are liberated when they get information in times of crisis. ‘
ABM Azad said the Right to Information Act was enacted after Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, to power. This law has been enacted to ensure free flow of information and people’s right to information. The implementation of this law has paved the way for the empowerment of the people.
