ACCA Bangladesh welcomes new members

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Bangladesh organised a programme to welcome the 69 newly qualified ACCA and 16 FCCA members, at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden on Thursday. ACCA Bangladesh holds this event every year to welcome and acknowledge the new qualified ACCA and FCCA Members.
This year, Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh, Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury was present as chief guest while Arif Khan, CEO and Managing Director of IDLC Ltd, as special guest, Md. Kausar Alam, CFO and Company Secretary, Shun Shing Group Bangladesh Operations and Sebastian Pearce, Director Examinations. British Council Bangladesh as guest of honor was present in the ceremony.
Md. Ahsanul Hoque Bashar, Head of ACCA Bangladesh, urged the ACCA members to spread their success stories and help shape the future for others while delivering the market’s expectations on leadership, professionalism and ethics. Bashar delivered the welcome note at the programme as well. ACCA Bangladesh’s Senior Business Development Manager of Employers & Member Affairs Shafaat Ali Choyon said that every year ACCA Bangladesh arranges this ceremony with great enthusiasm & spirit since it’s not only about celebrating the day, it’s about recognising the future leaders of the accountancy and finance sector.
They asked the new members to take the career seriously and nurture it as one would do in case of a garden.
A short video was played presenting the smarter city concept, narrating how the accountancy and finance sector can play a role to ensure a smart and developed city for everyone. ACCA Members need to have three years of working experience along with passing all the exams to be a member. And keeping this membership for five years leads them to be an FCCA Member.
Senior officials of ACCA Bangladesh and other guests from different sectors were also present on the occasion.
