Barisal Divisional Office of Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) trapped a staff of the land settlement office at Wazirpur upazila of the district on Monday noon and recovered bribed-money from him.
Abu Sayeed, divisional director of ACC Barisal office, acknowledging the facts said the trapped upazila land settlement-office bench clerk (Peshkar) Faruk Hossain later handed over to police.
Faruk Hossain demanded 10 thousand taka for settlement of land survey dispute under section 30 of land act (Trish dhara) from Nazem Ali Howlader of Baherhat village under Wazirpur Upazila.
The matter was informed to local ACC authourity and they installed a trap to arrest Faruk Hossain.
Faruk Hossain later received 10 thousand taka from Nazem Ali as bribe.
On Monday a team led by ACC director Abu Sayeed, later succeeded to detain Faruk recovering ten thousand taka given as bribe from his possession and the netted corrupted staff handed over to police, he added.
Golam Sarwar, Wazirpur police station officer in charge, said Faruk Hossain was son of Hanif Mridha of Gusinga village under Bauphal upazila of Patuakhali district.
