The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in its routine meeting approved of filing a case against the Secretary of Bholanondagiri Ashrom Trust Biswanath Chowdhury alias BN Chowdhury on charge of embezzling Tk five lakh from the trust.
The commission gave the approval on Tuesday. Earlier, a team led by ACC Deputy Director Sahidur Rahman submitted an inquiry report to the Commission. The case may be filed in the week.
In another development, ACC will launch an inquiry
against a former manager of a branch of Jamuna Bank Limited in connection with an allegation that he plundered about Tk 80 lakh.
Abir Hossain embezzled the money from a branch while performing duty as a manager in Rajshahi.
The commission in its exclusive meeting recently took the decision.
ACC has already sent a letter to its Rajshahi Divisional Office to assign a director to carry out the investigation.
