The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) alleged that there are anomalies in every tier of Chittagong Customs. AFM Aminul Islam, Commissioner of ACC, the corruption watchdog, came up with the comment while talking to journalists after a meeting with the Customs officials on Monday.
He said ACC had warned all government institutions and departments about corruption in 2016 and it is going to take effective steps against corruption from this year.
“There is exchange of illegal money in the Customs and we have ordered to suspend the persons responsible for the allegation”, the ACC commissioner said.
Earlier, a 12-member ACC team inspected different sections of the Chittagong Customs and held meetings with the officials.
