ACC sues BRTA official for misappropriating of govt money

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday filed a case against an Assistant Director of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority’s (BRTA), Noakhali office, for misappropriating about TK 130 million.
Muhammad Arif Sadeq, an official at the Commission’s public relations section told the
media that the case against Farhanul Haque, BRTA Assistant Director had been filed with Dhaka Coordination Office of ACC-1 after investigation.
According to the case statement, Farhanul Haque transacted TK 128.4 million from November 5, 2012 to 2020 in an illegal manner in 10 accounts in the name of his mother and brother.
He operated their accounts with Standard Chartered Bank, UCBL, Sonali Bank and IDLC.
He joined BRTA as an Assistant Director on September 9, 2012.
