The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) started questioning Abdur Rahman Bodi, a ruling party MP from Cox’s Bazar-4 (Ukhia-Teknaf), on Sunday morning in connection with the allegation of unusual wealth accumulation.
ACC deputy director Ahsan Ali started quizzing
Bodi around 10 am at the ACC head office, Commission sources said.
The Commission on February 4 served a notice asking MP Bodi to be present at 10 am at the ACC head office to face grilling on February 16.
The notice says if Bodi fails to be present at the ACC head office within the stipulated time, legal action will be taken against him.
Earlier, on January 12 last, the ACC launched probes into the allegations of unusual wealth accumulation by seven politicians, including Abdur Rahman Bodi.
As per the affidavits of candidates submitted to the Election Commission for the last 10th parliamentary polls, the income of Bodi has increased by 351 folds in the last five years while his net wealth increased by 19 times. In terms of money, he earned nearly Tk 37 crore during the period.
