The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday interrogated two engineers of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), including its chief engineer, for their suspected involvement in corruption.
An ACC team, led by its director Mir Joynul Abedin Shebly, questioned CAAB chief engineer Sudhendu Bikash Goswami and its superintendent engineer M Maksudul Islam for nearly two hours starting at 10:30 am at the Commission’s head office in the capital, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB. Sources said the ACC earlier received an allegation that owner of National Traders Md Abdul Hamid through his nine agencies misappropriated a huge amount of money from CAAB by giving bribe to Goswami and Maksudul. Considering the allegation, they said the national anti-graft agency launched a probe and the two CAAB engineers were interrogated on Thursday as part of it.
