Wealth report: ACC probe against Petrobangla chief

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched an inquiry against Petrobangla Chairman Hossain Munsur on charge of amassing huge wealth and properties beyond his means.
On Sunday, the ACC assigned its Deputy Director Ahsan Ali to carry out the investigation into 13 organisations under the Petrobangla and to fund out whether he really earned the wealth and properties dishonesty.
Sources in ACC said the commission decided to launch the inquiry against the Petrobangla chairman after receiving some complaints against him. The mater is still at the primary stage, the sources added.
The allegations against him (Munsur) include taking kickback during giving appointment to some employees in different posts during his last four years’ tenure.
The 13 organisations are Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company ltd, Sylhet Gas Filed Ltd, Bangladesh Gas Filed Company Ltd, Gas Transmission Company Ltd, Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd, Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Ltd, Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Ltd, Eastern Region Gas Company Ltd, Karnafully Gas Distribution Company Ltd, Shundarban Gas Company Ltd, Rupantar Natural Gas Company Ltd, Baropukuria Coalwell Company Ltd and Modhapara Kathin Shila Company Ltd.
