ACC okays charge-sheet against 6 including CAAB chief engineer

Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) has approved a charge-sheet against six engineers of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), including its chief engineer, for corruption on buying generator for Cox Bazar airport.
Pronab Kumar Battachariya, ACC spokesman, said, the allegation was brought against those six engineers for embezzling Tk 60 lakh in the name of buying the generator for the airport.
He said, the Commission has approved the charge-sheet on Monday. Within a short time the ACC’s Deputy Director Mahbubul Alam will submit charge-sheet to the judicial court. The charge-sheeted people are CAAB’s Executive Engineer Mihir Chand Dey, the caretaker engineer Shahidul Afroz, former Assistant Director Bhobis Chandra Sarker, former Deputy Director of the Cox’s Bazar Airport Manager’s office Shahidul Islam Mandal, Cox’s Bazar Airport Manager Hasan Zahir and contractor company M/s Dhaka International Traders’ owner Mohammad Shahabuddin.
