ACC issues CS against Enu, Rupon

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday issued charge-sheet against expelled Vice-President of Gandaria Thana Awami League Enamul Haque Enu and Joint Secretary Rupon Bhuiyan for allegedly acquiring assets outside their known sources of income.
Zulfiqar Hossain, an official of the General Registration branch of the ACC court, confirmed the matter to the media saying

that the Investigating Officer of the case submitted a charge-sheet against them on Wednesday.
Accused Enamul Haque Enu has been charged with acquiring assets worth Tk 47,36,91,678 crore.
 Enu’s accomplices Harunur Rashid and Abul Kalam Azad have also been included in the charge sheet for directly assisting Enamul Haque Enu to acquire and seize illicit assets worth a total of Tk 3,99,90,000 crore.
On the other hand, Rupan Bhuiyan has been charged with acquiring illicit assets worth Tk 37,57,16,987 crore in the chargesheet.
ACC Assistant Director Mamunur Rashid Chowdhury filed a case against Enamul Haque Enu on October 23, 2019, alleging acquisition of non-income assets worth Tk 21.9 crore.
Another ACC Assistant Director Md Neyamul Ahsan Gazi filed a case against Rupan for allegedly acquiring illegal assets worth Tk 14,12,95,882 crore.
On September 24, 2019, RAB raided the house of two brothers Enu and Rupon and the house of Wanderers Club employees Abul Kalam and Harun Aur Rashid and seized more than Tk five crore in cash, more eight kilograms of gold ornaments and six firearms.
The ACC later investigated their assets.
Following the investigation, the ACC filed a case against the two brothers on October 23, last year for allegedly acquiring assets worth Tk 35 crore.
