24th anniversary of Hill Accords Observed

The 24th anniversary of the Hill Tracts Peace Accord was observed in Guimara in Khagrachhari with various arrangements including colorful rallies and discussion meetings on Thursday.
Guimara Region of the Bangladesh Army arranged the rally that started from Hafchhari Primary School Ground in the morning with the participation of thousands of hill Bengalis. Then the rally paraded to the Model High School grounds and ended with a discussion meeting. Guimara Region Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Ridwanur Rahman addressed the meeting as the Chief Guest. Among others, BGB Guimara Acting Sector Commander Lt. Col. Syed Salauddin Nayan, Matiranga Zone Commander Lt. Col. Walid Mohammad Saifullah, Ramgarh Upazila Chairman Bishwa Pradeep Kumar Karbari, Guimara Upazila Chairman Ushyepru Marma, Manikchhari Upazila Chairman Md. Joynal Abedin and others spoke.
After the discussion, the regional commander inaugurated the Peace Fair by flying balloons and doves. Volleyball tournaments, cultural events, humanitarian aid and free medical camp were also organized to mark the day.
