ACC grills 5 LGED engrs

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday interrogated five engineers of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) in connection with graft allegation raised against its former chief engineer Wahidur Rahman.
ACC deputy director Mir Zainul Abedin Shebly questioned them from about 2 pm to 5 pm at the ACC head
office, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB. The LGED engineers grilled yesterday were assistant engineer Nazrul Islam, superintending engineer Shahidur Rahman Pramanik, additional chief engineer Mohammad Mohsin, project director (CDSP-4) Mohammad Rezaul Karim and upazila engineer Khandaker Assaduzzaman.
Earlier, the ACC received an allegation that LGED’s ex-chief engineer Wahidur Rahman accumulated huge wealth misusing his power and initiated a probe into the allegation.
The ACC has already summoned 15 LGED engineers to be present at its head office to face questioning in connection with the graft allegation. On Wednesday, the ACC also interrogated three LGED engineers.
