Later, the national anti-graft body initiated a probe against him.Earlier, Dwasa had taken a move to set up the Padma-Jasholdia water treatment plant to bring water from Padma River and supply 45 crore litres of water every day to the city dwellers amid the growing water demand. But, Dwasa signed an agreement with a Chinese firm 13 months before the approval of the project. And it did not float any tender for the installation work, according to the allegation. As per the allegation received by the ACC, Taqsem A Khan procured substandard pipes without floating any tender before land acquisition and the appointment of consultant for the water treatment project. The ACC notification posted on its website said since the Commission has no jurisdiction to probe the allegation raised against the Wasa managing director, it concluded the inquiry. And the Commission put forward the allegation to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives requesting to take necessary actions in this regard. On May 14 this year, the ACC interrogated Taksim on the allegation of irregularities and corruption in Padma-Jasholdia water treatment plant.
