ACC arrests 5 more graft suspects

UNB, Dhaka :The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday arrested five graft suspects, including a sub-registrar, fromdifferent parts of the country in separate graft cases. ACC assistant director of Comilla Zila office Hafizul Islam arrested sub-registrar of Laksam Upazila Md Abu Taleb Miah from Comilla in a graft case filed against him, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.On August 6, 2014, a case was filed against him with Palong Police Station of Faridpur district for allegedly causing a loss Tk 28 lakh in government revenue through the registration of 3.71 acres of land in Shariatpur municipality area, violating rules.ACC deputy assistant director of Kushtia office Mustafizur Rahman detained Md Ahsanul Huq, Fakhrul Alam and Md Khalilur Rahman of Chuadanga for reportedly preparing fake land documents and using it.ACC assistant director of Tangail office Md Amir Hossain apprehended Md Mahmudunnabi from Tangail for allegedly taking job in the police showing fake freedom fighter’s certificate.
